Tilbe Saran
Born in Istanbul, Turkey. Tilbe Saran is one of the most versatile and succesful actresses in Turkey. She speaks fluent English and French.She has won multiple awards for performances on stage.
After French High School, she graduated from the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, Theatre Department and Istanbul University Art History Department.
Following appearances on stage during her school years in Kenter Theatre, Saran’s first starring role was in 1986 as 'Barbara' in ''Run For Your Wife'' for Dormen Theatre. This performance led to her first award.
From 1989 to 1995 she joined Istanbul Municipal Theatre playing ''King Lear'' in 1990, ''Uncle Vania'' in 1991, ''Tartuffe'' in 1993 , ''Çalıkuşu''(Reşat Nuri Güntekin) in 1994.
In 1995 Aksanat Production Theatre was established by Cüneyt Türel & Işıl Kasapoğlu & Tilbe Saran. Until 2004 she performed in leading roles in 9 plays which are all Turkey premiere. In 1996 after playing ''Abelard & Heliose''(Ronald Duncan); in 1998 one of her most notable achievements was her performance as 'Tekla' in ''Creditors''(August Strindberg) led her first Afife Theatre Awards in the category of Best Actress. After staging ''Molly Sweeney''(Brian Friel) , ''The Seagull'' , ''Sevilmek''(Bilge Karasu) and ''Knepp''(Jorge Goldenberg) , in 2002 for the performance in ''Tek Kişilik Şehir''(Behiç Ak), she recieved Afife Theatre Awards in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy or a Musicial. In 2003 she played in ''Fernando Krapp Wrote Me This Letter''(Tankred Dorst) and in 2004 ''Two Plays After''(Brian Friel) then she finished her stage productions for Aksanat.
Tilbe Saran has been working for Aysa Production Theatre since 2005. Her first play for Aysa was ''Nathalie''(Philippe Blasband) with Zuhal Olcay in 2006. During the 16th International Istanbul Theatre Festival’s Opening Ceremony Tilbe Saran and Zuhal Olcay gave a concert called ‘Theatre Songs’. At the end of the Festival Saran’s performance as 'Mother Courage' in ''Mother Courage and Her Children''(Mutter Courage und Ihre Kinder) was acclaimed.
For the “Turkey saison in France” Project in 2009-2010, Tilbe Saran will be on stage in Paris with the play of Sedef Ecer, called “Sur le Seuil”.
She will return to the cinema in 2009 with “The Turquaze”, a belgian-turkish coproduction directed by Kadir Balcı.
At the same time, Tilbe Saran is still performing''A Big Scream of Love''(Un Grand Cri d’Amour) of Balasko and ''Mother Courage and Her Children'' of Brecht.
She is also continuing her lectures for Açık Radio (94.7) where she is reading “Karamazov Broadhers” of Dostoyevsky. Her lessons for master students in Kadir Has University. Saran is using her incredible voice to many animated characters and various other voice work her vocalization for different projects.
